# A New Rhythm Heaven Title Returns After 11 Years

Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars is a casual rhythm game co-developed by Nintendo and TNX Music Recordings and published by Nintendo. It was officially released on July 2, 2026.

The game marks the first new mainline entry in the series in approximately 11 years, following the previous title released in 2015.

Rather than filling the screen with complex note patterns or charts, the Rhythm Heaven series has consistently focused on an intuitive style of play built around responding to beats and timing through sound.

Its control scheme is likewise simplified to use only one or two buttons, allowing virtually anyone to start playing without pressure as long as they have basic rhythmic awareness and the ability to concentrate on audio cues.

This latest installment offers a substantial amount of content, including more than 80 new minigames and 30 dedicated modes supporting local multiplayer for up to four players.

Across the franchise’s previous mainline releases on Nintendo DS, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS, the series consistently earned a Metascore of 83 on the review aggregation site Metacritic.

As of July 10, the date this article was written, Rhythm Heaven: Miracle Stars had recorded a Metascore of 82 based on 76 critic reviews. Its user score stood at 8.8, based on 65 user ratings.
