Full Release After Two and a Half Years, with Concurrent Players Approaching One Million

Palworld is an open-world survival crafting game developed by Japanese game studio Pocketpair. Players collect and raise mysterious creatures known as “Pals,” using them for combat, construction, farming, factory automation, and the development of their own bases.

After launching in Early Access in January 2024, Palworld officially released Version 1.0 on July 10, 2026, roughly two and a half years later.

The full release significantly expanded the game’s overall content. Seventy-two new Pals were added, bringing the total roster to 287, while a new region called “Sunreach,” an increased level cap, and a reworked breeding system were introduced alongside broader system updates.

Ahead of the full release, the developer announced through its official social media channels on July 8 that Palworld had surpassed 40 million cumulative players.

During its Early Access period, the game previously reached a peak concurrent player count of 2.1 million, becoming the third-highest peak concurrent player title in Steam history.

With the launch of Version 1.0, global player engagement has once again rebounded sharply.

According to SteamDB, Palworld recorded a daily peak concurrent player count of 855,525 between July 12 and 13, shortly after the full release.

On July 19, during the second weekend following launch, peak concurrent players rose further to 961,867.

The full release of an Early Access game can serve as a major catalyst for bringing players back while also giving creators a reason to launch new streaming and video series.

Large-scale content additions and system overhauls introduced with a full release can provide a distinctly different gameplay experience from the initial Early Access version.

With the release of Version 1.0, Palworld has begun a new chapter in the global market.

Attention now turns to how long the renewed momentum generated by the full launch can be sustained.
