Hello, this is JH!

I've safely returned to the United States after a business trip to Korea.

The dry, chilly weather of Northern California and the absence of mosquitoes really make me feel like I'm back home.

Global News

Whenever I have a family gathering in Korea, I always hang around my nephews and nieces. When I ask what games they play, I find that most of them are games I know, so the generational/regional barriers suddenly disappear and we bond rapidly (Long live the gaming industry!)

This time, my nephew in the 5th grade kept shouting “Tung tung tung sahur” so much that it was almost ear-piercing. I saw that Amazon was even selling t-shirts with that phrase on them, so I looked them up to see what they were.

'Tung Tung Tung Sahur' is said to imitate the sound of a drum used to signal the dawn meal (Sahur) before Ramadan in Indonesia, and the genre that includes this meme is called  the Italian Brainrot meme genre.

While I was thinking about how AI-generated content might impact human creators,  I came across  a short-form video by TikTok creator Zauey . Zauey explains that in the AI era, content can be divided into three categories:

  1. Human-made Content

  2. AI Content pretending to be human-made

  3. AI Content that doesn't hide the fact that it was created by AI

Do you all agree? Where do we stand in terms of the content we watch these days?

Sharing an interview that explores the philosophy of global creator collaboration in the AI era.

Sharing here about my interview article that was published last week.

When I first received an interview request from an online magazine called The Chief's Digest, I thought, "What the heck? This is a clickbait."  The Chief's Digest, a publication focused on global corporate leadership, technological innovation, and startups, was drawn to ContentFlux, which was undergoing a renewal process.

As those who know me know, I originally worked in game sourcing. When a reporter asked me what book inspired me, I mentioned "Moneyball," and he summed it up with the rhyming subtitle, "The Career Pivot: From Sourcing Games to Sourcing Influence."

What sparked my interest in the topic of Social Listening was a few years ago when BTS's V searched for ketchup while eating a burger on YouTube. He later posted a message on the official Heinz Ketchup X channel, which became a hot topic. This point was also introduced in the article, "The Inspiration: A BTS Moment and the power of Social Listening."

This article nicely summarizes how I came to the US, made a career transition, and ultimately founded ContentFlux, a social listening platform. It's a little embarrassing, but I'd appreciate it if you'd read it.

ContentFlux

As briefly mentioned above, ContentFlux is undergoing a renewal phase!

We'll be back with a new look on July 11th.
